Hammersmith & Fulham teens celebrate GCSE results
Young people in one London borough may have been keen to celebrate recently after receiving their GCSE results.
Indeed, those with children looking for property to rent in Hammersmith & Fulham may be pleased to hear that Burlington Danes Academy in Wood Lane achieved its best ever pass rate.
This year, 50 per cent of its students received an A* to C grade, an increase of nine per cent on 2008 figures, the London Informer reports.
And the school will open its new sixth form in September, which may prompt more students to stay on into higher education.
Teachers at the school are also hopeful that more of their pupils will go on to secure places at Oxford and Cambridge.
Student Sara Shorir, 16, said: "I'm ecstatic, I never knew I was going to do as well. I decided to do A-level philosophy here because it's interesting and it makes you think a lot."
A-level results in the UK were also released in recent weeks.
