Area Comments
This is one of the most desirable places in London to live - possibly, if you did a straw poll, the most sought after location in Britain, and one of the most fashionable places to live in the world. Popular with the rich, the famous, the powerful, Hampstead has amazing resources and amenities and its properties are to die for.
Strangely perhaps for a place that has become the last word in fashion and desirability, Hampstead was built to be a home for rich and poor alike. Its ideal position between city and countryside was of course one of the reasons that it became so fashionable and sought after; Hampstead has to an extent been planned out of the budget of many of those it was originally intended for.
Whatever the reason, the Suburb (as it's called) is now one of the richest in London. It is packed with beautiful restaurants and cafes, and its rolling hills and streets are utterly beguiling. It has its own theatres, wonderful couture stores, woodland nearby, and of course what is to many (and all North Londoners) the best parkland in London in the Heath. It is a self-contained enclave of the super-rich in every way, self-governed and its planning regulations fierce - it is hard for any unwanted developer to enter the village, either in terms of property or in terms of undesirable store frontage.
Roads here are, at their most affordable, beyond the budget of most. There are smaller houses near Denham Drive, but these smaller and more 'modest' homes are still beautiful and fought over. The truly magnificent many-storeyed houses in the centre and the streets leading onto the park are both physically extraordinary (with many five storeys tall) and achingly desirable to the rich and famous. All properties here are wonderful; all are to be seized if you possibly can.
In many ways, Hampstead is the most openly desirable place to live in London. It has the exclusivity of the most establishment areas of the centre, along with a rural charm all its own. To live here is to rub shoulders with people you see in Fortune 500 companies as well as media stars galore. Any opportunity to view or buy here - if you have the means - must be grabbed instantly.

Swiss Cottage: Cosmopolitan and classy
Finding housing in London can be a challenging experience. While the capital's many boroughs and districts offer a wide variety of choice and all-year-round availability, you might find yourself utterly overwhelmed by what's on offer. Even once you find that potential abode that includes enough rooms and a big enough garden within that price range - which is likely to be fairly hefty in London - you might then struggle to match it to a particular school, bus route or other service necessary to your everyday life.
