Letting Agents in Bow London E3
Area Comments
Also on the borders of Victoria Park, Bow resembles its close neighbour Bethnal Green in many respects. It's another strong working class London Borough, and many of its properties are populated by the families who've lived here for generations - but like any East End borough, Bow is regenerating both in terms of housing and in terms of those living in them.
Architecturally Bow is more varied than Bethnal Green, however. Whilst there are plenty of the council estates that are so typical of the East London area (much of which was of course rebuilt wholesale after the Blitz), unlike its Western neighbour Bow boasts some fine Georgian terraces done up in the stucco that makes these properties so distinctive and so attractive to any purchaser. These are to be found largely around Tredegar Square, and vie with popularity with the Victorian housing that surrounds Bow's portion of Victoria Park. Much of Bow's property is of course Victorian terraces, mostly two storey and three storey. As well as this, ex-council properties and newly built apartments are available at very competitive prices. As the area regains its popularity, chiefly with workers in the City and Docklands areas who are looking both for affordable and authentic housing, so the houses and streets of Bow have become cleaner as more infrastructure is invested in.
Socially, Bow is less concentrated than its neighbours, although there is still a strong community spirit and pride of the kind that East End areas are famous for. Regeneration has meant that local stores, cafes and restaurants have had to make room for more upmarket social venues, with a few gastropubs and other eateries making the scene, but the feel of Bow is still robustly that of the East End - albeit with a smoother, more affluent feel to it now.
The broad array of different properties from new build apartment to Georgian stucco terrace provides a huge range of opportunities for anyone looking to get some serious space within easy reach of London, for far less than most areas.
