Letting Agents in Notting Hill London W11

Area Feature

When it comes to living in London, few areas are more desirable than Notting Hill. Subject of the critically-acclaimed 1999 film, the area has witnessed a dramatic surge of interest from residents over the last few years, with people clamouring to live in such an artistic, vibrant community.

Stretching from Kensington Gardens on one end of Chelsea all the way to Holland Park, Notting Hill has something for everyone. Superb shopping, stunning housing and a varied community, this leafy suburb is a prime spot for couples, families and even those living on their own. House shares are by far the cheapest way to live. Prices start from around £140 per week for one bedroom, while £750 per week will gain you a two-bedroom home in this spectacular location.

It's certainly not the cheapest location in London, so what makes Notting Hill so expensive? Firstly, in many cases, it's the quality of the houses themselves. You can expect light, spacious residences along with back gardens with actual grass and plants - a real rarity in Central London. Cosy attic rooms with jaw-dropping views over Kensington Gardens are not uncommon, while a safe and quiet neighbourhood provides more than adequate security if you've got young ones.

Atmosphere plays an important role in making Notting Hill an ideal place to live. Although the famous Notting Hill Gate Road is always thronging with people, it's easy to lose yourself in the tranquil back streets that feel more like a sleepy village than the bustling British capital. The contrast is difficult to find anywhere else in the city, as is the vibrant and artistic community.

Residents are also lucky enough to be located close to some of London's most popular attractions and shops, such as the iconic Portobello Market which has existed since 1837. The plethora of stalls and sales vendors here is sure to satisfy the urges of any shopaholic.

For those who like to go out and paint the town red, there are plenty of clubs, pubs and bars within easy access. Try the Prince Albert on Pembridge Road, which has a wide selection of draught beers and other drinks, complemented by a very pleasant beer garden and excellent food. Arty people would also be advised to check out the Notting Hill Arts Club, one of the hippest places in London, which boasts DJs and live music in the evenings.

Residents have all the benefits of living in a wide open area, so it's easy to forget Notting Hill is actually very close to the centre of the capital. You have a choice of four Tube Stations - Westbourne Park, Ladbroke Grove, Latimer Road and Notting Hill Gate - which can easily be utilised to reach pretty much anywhere in the city. The closest national rail station is London Paddington, although Victoria and Marylebone are also within easy reach.

All things considered, Notting Hill is a stunning location which is sure to tick all of the boxes for anyone looking to live in London. We'll see you there for the carnival.
