At the end of the Piccadilly Line lies Cockfosters, a northern suburb just inside London and offering excellent transport as well as great properties at competitive prices.
Sporty (Saracens Rugby Club used to be based nearby and lots of local teams use the area for training), and very countrified, Cockfosters offers fantastic amenities in terms of leisure and open space. Trent Country Park is huge, open and beautiful, offering young families a great day out without having to trek far. Education is good here, with plenty of schools in easy distance at both primary and secondary levels. There is also the excellent Middlesex University, which has two of its campuses in the area, including one in Trent Park itself.
Cockfosters has a wide range of property, from Victorian town houses and redbricks through 1930s semis, and more modern builds. As the idea of living in a thoroughly rural area still on the tube line attracts city professionals, there are apartments in many of the larger converted properties, many near to the large numbers of sporting and recreation grounds. The level of many of these properties is excellent given their prices, and many of the apartment on offer in the converted period properties - Victorian and Edwardian amongst others - is truly stunning.
Cockfosters has a wonderful choice of affordable properties for most budgets, and is one of the cleanest and airiest areas inside the M25.
