Tenants in flats to rent in Epping Forest could have their say on development
Tenants occupying flats to rent in the London borough of Epping Forest have been given the opportunity to show what they would like to see as a result of future development in the area.
Epping Forest Council has launched the initiative, inviting residents to send in pictures to demonstrate their vision of the district, with each entry going into a prize draw.
The scheme is part of the community visioning process introduced by the committee in order to gather public opinion on the path they would like the borough to take.
Councillor Di Collins said: "Once we have a general feel for people’s priorities, we will start a second round of consultation looking at the issues in more detail."
She added that she wants to see public debate on changes to the area and in order to encourage this, people can use traditional ways to voice their opinion - such as through questionnaires - or by using new technologies like Facebook.
Last month, Epping Forest Council was awarded the Customer Service Excellence Award after it was judged to have met the 57 different assessment criteria.
