Surrey 'superbia' brings calm 'inside the M25'
A new belt of luxurious suburban properties has developed into the most sought-after location for renting and house-buying in the London area, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Nestling just inside the M25 and within easy reach of Central London, the newspaper identified the appeal of 'superbia' luxury housing as second-to-none for those wishing to reconcile London lifestyles with suburban serenity.
Recent research from Savills showed that six out of ten big city buyers would ideally like to set up base in a comfortable suburb, rather than a central location, with The Telegraph singling out Surrey hotspots as the most desirable in the London area.
The village of Oxshott, inside Junction 10 of the M25, was identified as the hottest 'superbia' location, with easy access to London jobs and nightlife, but the village green and local stores providing the tranquillity of rural life.
With mansions springing up in the area, top-end property was said to be one of the major draws of suburbs like Oxshott – but an average house price of £870,383 means that many heading to superbia will need to rent to do so.
Another Surrey hotspot, Woldingham, was second to Oxshott in the superbia stakes, with the area lying only 30 minutes from Victoria by train.
