People in flats to rent in London may benefit from new sports coaches
Tenants in flats to rent in London who attend sports clubs in boroughs around the city may have benefited as a result of an investment to provide more coaches.
Since the £3 million programme was launched in June, more than 1,000 individuals from the capital have signed up to get involved with sporting activities in their communities.
"With London 2012 just around the corner, we want to inspire and encourage more Londoners to get active and take advantage of the opportunities that hosting the Games will offer," said Mayor of London Boris Johnson.
He called on youngsters in London to take advantage of the opportunity to learn new skills and challenge themselves, as the city attempts to reduce the shortfall in coaches from over 40,000.
Last week, Mr Johnson stated the £1.25 million that has been pledged to help improve recycling facilities in the capital would provide practical ways for Londoners to recycle.
