Outdoor gym opens in Harrow
An outdoor gym has opened in Kenton, giving those living in property to rent in the London Borough of Kenton the opportunity to exercise more.
The gym is located in Kenton Recreation Ground and has already been put to the test by local residents and members of the Kenton Adventure Park Management Committee.
Six pieces of equipment that are suitable for all ages and abilities feature at the gym: a double station surfer, leg press and chest press, a skier, horseback rider and multi-station body twister.
Councillor Phillip O'Del, portfolio holder for environment and community safety at Harrow Council, said: "We all know that taking regular exercise is important and this new outdoor gym means that anyone wanting to get fit this summer does not need to fork out for expensive gym membership."
Earlier this month, a Kenton resident ran non-stop for 24 hours to raise money for victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami.
