Olympics may illuminate flats to rent in Newham
Those thinking of finding flats to rent in Newham may be more excited about living near the Olympic stadium now the lights have been switched on.
Yesterday (December 20th) saw the illumination of the main venue for the 2012 games, with prime minister David Cameron, London Organising Committee chairman Seb Coe and London mayor Boris Johnson being joined by members of the local community.
Mr Cameron said: "Beyond 2012 we want to ensure these Games deliver a strong legacy - not just regenerating this part of East London, but boosting our national economy and inspiring a new generation to get active and get into sport."
The stadium has 532 individual lights suspended from 14 towers.
One benefit of living in the area will be the development of the Olympic Park, which after the games will become a large open public space, with a dedicated Olympic Park Legacy Company charged with looking after it.
