New poems for Tube passengers
Those travelling on the London Underground are set to have their journeys brightened by a series of poems, Transport for London (TFL) has stated.
From today, works celebrating the spring season are appearing on posters to enhance the moods of residents of the capital while commuting.
They have been selected by Poems on the Underground - which was founded in 1986 - and feature writers from across the UK.
Head of art for the Tube network Tamsin Dillon remarked: "We hope that customers will enjoy the new spring poems and that they will brighten their journey."
One of those responsible for choosing the poems is Judith Chernaik, who has contributed a work of her own for the first time and said: "I'm looking forward to seeing how people react to it while on their daily commute."
TFL recently announced that two new maps had been produced for the London Underground, providing greater information about the facilities available at each station as well as step-free access.
