Londoners 'overpaying on taxes'
Londoners have been urged to take steps in order to help reduce the amount they are paying in tax.
A study by professional advice website Unbiased.co.uk revealed that 81 per cent of people in the UK have not done anything to lower their payments.
And with the capital found to be the region wasting the most, it called for residents to become more tax-efficient.
Chief executive David Elms estimated that the average taxpayer will waste just over £190, although he explained that this varies greatly depending on circumstances.
"With individuals and families forced to tighten their belts this year, it is alarming how little people are doing to take advantage of the tax incentives, reliefs and credits available to them," said Mr Elms.
HM Revenue & Customs recently launched a series of online videos, offering guidance for small business operators in London to ensure their taxes are in order.
