London voted UK's best city
London has been voted the UK's best city, beating off stiff competition from Liverpool and Edinburgh.
The honour was bestowed upon the capital at the eleventh Conde Nast Traveller Reader Travel Awards, which were held at the London Science Museum on Monday night (September 1st).
Readers of the Conde Nast Traveller magazine voted in their thousands to recognise the city as the UK's best location to visit.
The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, said: "Winning the best UK city award is testament to the wealth and variety of attractions London has to offer, from our leading galleries and museums to our cutting edge restaurants and bars."
While the award is certain to bring millions more tourists to the capital, it is also likely to attract many more renters.
A report last month revealed that renting a home in London is considerably cheaper in the long-run than buying, with some properties in the capital requiring up to a £70,000 deposit.
