Harrow residents urged to share views on local facilities
Residents living in property to rent in Harrow, as well as other housing in the area, are being urged to share their views on the local facilities.
People are being encouraged to tell the council what they think about parks, libraries, arts and sports facilities in the locality, so that improvements can be made where possible.
The Let's Talk Consultation closes on Friday August 26th, so residents have just over a week to give their views.
Residents can fill out a poll on the council's website, or they can pick up a freepost paper copy of the form in libraries or council offices.
Nearly 3,000 people have so far taken part in the consultation, but the council is hoping to get even more input.
Over the next four years, it needs to find areas in which to make £62 million of savings, which is why it is urging residents to share their views, in order to find out which things are being used most frequently.
Harrow Council is asking people how often they go to Harrow Arts Centre and Harrow Museum, and what would be needed in order to encourage them to use the sports and leisure facilities more.
"So many residents have come to talk to us at our roadshows and 'go to' days this summer, telling us what they think about our cultural and leisure services," councillor David Perry, portfolio holder for community and cultural services on the council, said.
"Let's Talk is about giving you a real influence in our decisions so don't miss the chance to be part of the conversation."
Recently, the police in Harrow were praised for their approach to tackling the London riots which affected the borough last week.
Some 280 officers were on patrol across Harrow, as disorder and violence hit the capital city.
