Harrow Arts Centre seeking ambassadors
People living in property to rent in Harrow who enjoy the arts can become an ambassador for the local arts centre.
Harrow Council is looking for 30 volunteers to advise on and advertise Harrow Arts Centre's (HAC) events programme.
This "pioneering" scheme aims to give residents a crucial role in shaping the art events on offer, as well as attracting a wider audience to the Hatch End venue.
Ambassadors will have the chance to use their local knowledge to gather ideas and feedback from residents about what they want to see or do at HAC.
David Perry, portfolio holder for community and culture on Harrow Council, said: "This scheme is about residents having a starring role in deciding what we offer at Harrow Arts Centre.
"This is about listening to local people and giving them a greater say in what you can see or do there," he added.
Government adoption adviser Martin Narey recently visited the borough and commended the work of Harrow Council's children's services department.
