Haringey 'to be one of the cleanest boroughs'
Those living in property to rent in the London borough of Haringey will soon be able to say they reside in one of the cleanest areas of the city.
This is because a new waste contract has been signed between Haringey Council and Veolia Environmental Services.
Councillor Nilgun Canver, Haringey's cabinet member for neighbourhoods, said the new contract was a positive step for the borough.
"We will increase recycling, tackle fly-tipping and sweep every residential street on average twice a week, six days a week. Busy roads will be swept more frequently," she explained.
Ms Canver said that some of this work has already started and that teething troubles are being overcome.
Later this week, seven street parties are to take place near to property to rent in the London borough of Haringey to celebrate the royal wedding.
Two parties are also due to take place to celebrate May Day on May 1st.
