Flats to rent in Newham may offer speedy fun for cyclists
Those renting property in the London borough of Newham could enjoy some very fast fun on two wheels, after club cyclists tested out the track at the Olympic velodrome.
Riders from the Halesowen club were among those using the track and 15-year-old Emily Kay told the Evening Standard: "We just kept going faster and you could hardly get me off it. We often compete at the Manchester velodrome, but this seems even faster."
And designer Ron Webb said he had made some modifications to make the track exceptionally fast and the riders whizzed round the 250-metre circuit at up to 75 kph.
While this may help Britain's riders set more records as well as piling up the gold medals, the advantages can also be enjoyed by local people, who will be able to use the facilities as well.
The 6,000 seat venue will be run by the Lea Valley Regional Park Authority after the games.
