Flats to rent in London 'may entice families from rural areas'
More people living in rural areas of the UK may consider flats to rent in London given that housing affordability has become an "increasing problem", according to one expert.
Katy John, press officer for PricedOut.org.uk, explained young people with families are looking for the security that comes with owning a property.
However, they often find themselves in competition with second home owners because of the growing developments in this area of the property market.
"The fact that the average house price now stands at ten times the average salary shows how pronounced this issue has become," Ms John continued.
If young families do find the cost of purchasing a home too much, they could still relocate to the city by looking at flats to rent in London.
Knight Frank recently revealed that the value of prime properties in the English countryside is nearly eight per cent higher than it was 12 months ago.
