Flats to rent in London 'could become more eco-friendly'
People looking at flats to rent in London could increasingly find that the properties they view have eco-friendly features, if the comments of one expert are anything to go by.
Alison Coleman, marketing manager at Magnet, explained more and more people are becoming conscious of things they can do to help the environment.
As a result, fixtures and features in houses and flats are reflecting this, with her company launching worktops made from recycled and eco-friendly materials.
Ms Coleman explained that "the stylish and durable worktops are partly made from recycled consumer waste such as mirror, porcelain sinks, baths and tiles, and from industrial waste such as ash from power plants".
She also pointed out that some stone is sourced from quarries and workshops, making it an environmentally-friendly, but "beautiful" way to decorate flats to rent.
Earlier this week, Ikea revealed most people want a kitchen that will allow them to make organic, natural food and try growing their own produce.
