Do Londoners know their neighbours?
The hit Channel 4 series Friends has been popular with people in the UK for well over a decade now, but just what was the secret to their friendship?
It may have been that, rather than putting security first, the doors to their apartments were always left open to each other, meaning they could have a catch-up at any time of the day or night.
However, it would appear that people living in London are not quite so trusting when it comes to leaving their doors unlocked on the off chance a neighbour may visit.
Indeed, research by Saga has revealed that only two per cent of Londoners leave their homes insecure, in comparison to 14 per cent of people in Scotland who leave their back doors open in case a friend pops by.
The research also revealed that the likelihood of an unexpected home visit from friends, family or a sales person increases with age.
Britons looking for property to rent in London borough of Eltham in Greenwich, or anywhere else in the capital, may first like to send some time getting to know the area and perhaps even speaking to their potential new neighbours.
They may even find they have soon made their very own group of Friends.
