Broxbourne residents 'feel safer'
The perceptions those living in property to rent in the London borough of Broxbourne have of crime and anti-social behaviour (ASB) have improved significantly, a study has revealed.
Hertfordshire Constabulary's Safer and Stronger Communities Survey was carried out via telephone interviews with over 600 local residents.
Only six per cent of respondents thought that anti-social behaviour was a problem, compared to 27 per cent of those questioned in 2008.
In the 2008 survey, 60 per cent of residents considered teenagers hanging around on the streets to be a problem, but this has dropped to 30 per cent.
"Many residents also felt that the behaviour of teenagers had improved, with 22 per cent feeling it had got better and ten per cent a lot better," a statement from Broxbourne Council read.
Last month, the council announced it was investigating ways to improve the gateway entrance into Hoddesdon business park in the north of the borough.
