Young people 'keener to rent'
Young people are more likely to want to rent property now than they may have been in other years, according to a partner relationship manager.
Jon Brown of iammoving.com noted that younger people are taking a "more positive approach" when it comes to renting property, as it can offer a more flexible and affordable alternative to buying.
Young people - some of whom may be considering property to rent in London - are also open to living in shared accommodation and view renting as a way to maintain their independence without "being tied forever to one location", he said.
The recently-published Focus On London 2009 research indicated that people living in London are less likely to relocate to another part of the UK during the recession.
According to figures compiled for the research, the number of people leaving the capital has decreased by nearly one-half during the past five years.
