Work to improve Barnet walk commences
Work has started to improve Dollis Valley Greenwalk so that it can be even more enjoyable to people living in flats to rent in the London borough of Barnet and other property in the area.
The mayor of London's Help a London Park scheme has allocated £400,000 to improving the popular walking route.
A further £250,000 has also been awarded by Transport for London to improve the cycle lanes and footpaths along the walk.
On top of this, £30,000 has been invested by Walk London, to improve signage along the route, and an extra £50,000 has been allocated by Barnet Council.
Councillor Brian Coleman, cabinet member for environment, said: "The Dollis Valley Greenwalk is a much loved green space by many of our residents and I am very pleased this grant will help to protect and enhance it for future generations."
Earlier this month, the council urged local residents living in property to rent in the London borough of Barnet to fill out their census forms in order to protect the area's vital public services.
