Wandsworth Museum receives Green Tourism Award
Those living in property to rent in the London borough of Wanstead are lucky to have easy access to an award-winning facility.
Wandsworth Museum was recently given a Green Tourism Award for the steps it takes to be environmentally friendly, the Wandsworth Guardian reports.
The museum worked with the Green Tourist Business Scheme to increase its sustainability.
Extra insulation has been added to the museum's roof and lightbulbs have been replaced with energy-efficient LEDs.
Ken Barbour, the museum's director, said: "The idea was that we could reduce costs, make the museum more sustainable and tell the community so we could promote a green agenda."
He went on to say that the award means that the facility is doing well so far, but improvements will continue to be made.
Last week, people living in or near to flats to rent in the London borough of Wandsworth who like to exercise and get others on their feet too were honoured with Active Wandsworth Awards.
