Tenants in flats to rent in Barnet may visit museum this Christmas
History lovers occupying flats to rent in the London borough of Barnet could head to the Church Farmhouse Museum and experience what the festive season was like for bygone generations.
The Greyhound Hill establishment in Hendon is holding its Christmas Past exhibition from next Monday (December 6th), which will allow individuals to learn about the origins of a variety of winter holiday traditions.
Within the venue, the 1850s dining room will be decked out ready for a Victorian celebration, with people able to learn about how the era passed on activities such as pulling a cracker and exchanging presents.
Until the Victorian period, having a Christmas tree was a German custom unknown by the vast majority of Britons and it did not become the centrepiece of a living room until Prince Albert introduced them in the 1840s.
Meanwhile, tenants in flats to rent in the London borough of Broxbourne may decide to book tickets to the production of Cinderella that is being performed at the area's Civic Hall from December 10th.
