Southwark residents to benefit from community fund
Those living in flats to rent in the London borough of Southwark are being asked to bid for £120,000 that has been made available through this year's community council fund.
This provides grants of between £100 and £1,000 to be used for community-based projects.
Each of the borough's eight community councils have £15,000 to give to projects that will benefit their local areas.
Councillor Abdul Mohamed, cabinet member for citizenship, equalities and communities, said: "The great thing about this programme is that it enables local communities to make a real difference to where they live, a difference that they have requested."
He went on to encourage all residents to start thinking of ways they can better their local areas.
The deadline for applications for the funding is Monday May 16th.
Southwark Council recently informed those living in property to rent in the borough of its opening hours over the Easter and May bank holidays via its website.
