Southwark residents enjoy cheaper parking
Those living in property to rent in the London borough of Southwark can now enjoy cheaper parking through a new scheme.
Called RingGo, the new system requires people to pay for their parking using their phones.
Those who use this method can pay up to 40p less per hour than if they pay with cash at a pay and display machine.
Councillor Barrie Hargrove, cabinet member for transport, environment and recycling at Southwark Council, said that most people in the borough carry a mobile phone and credit or debit card with them, so paying this way will be easy.
"Paying by phone offers a great alternative to cash and its success across Southwark demonstrates how much people already like and use it," he added.
Earlier this month, Southwark Council announced that a wide range of fun activities are to take place across the borough over the Easter period, including free storytelling sessions at the Cuming Museum.
