Singletons 'should look to Camden'
Among single young people looking for flats to rent in London, Camden has been identified as an ideal place to live.
According to Hamptons International, the trendy north-London borough - home to such illustrious celebrities as Amy Whitehouse - is perfect for relationship-minded people in their twenties.
The property organisation noted the "large population of single men and women" living in the area, which also boasts an array of popular bars and clubs as well as some of the capital's most famous music venues.
These include Koko, the Barfly, the Underworld, the Jazz Cafe and the historic Roundhouse venue.
Property prices in the alternative-culture mecca start at around £611 per square foot (PSF) - and for those who would struggle to get a mortgage there is also a ready supply of flats to rent in Camden.
Hamptons issued its advice as part of a wider study examining which areas of the capital are suitable for which buyers.
It also found that the least affordable London area to live in is Belgravia / Knightsbridge, where prices run from £1,018 PSF.
