Property to rent in Bromley: Thyme Out group lauded
A group of volunteers who work to improve the surroundings of property to rent in the London borough of Bromley have completed an intensive training course.
The members of the Thyme Out group, which is a three-year project to support people with learning disabilities, have graduated from an 18-month City and Guilds course in gardening and conservation training.
On the course, the volunteers learned about techniques such as plant and pond maintenance, pruning, mowing, soil preparation and plant identification, which they will put to good use when working on the areas around property to rent in the London borough of Bromley.
As they received their qualifications, they were also presented with a Green Flag award for the work the Thyme Out team carried out to improve Bromley Palace Park.
Julian Benington, executive councillor for renewal and recreation at Bromley Council, commented: "The Green Flag award is a reflection of the commitment undertaken by the team to improve the green space for the enjoyment of the whole community."
Earlier this week, Southwark Council approved a £6 million project to give Burgess Park a makeover through an extension to its lake and the creation of wildlife habitats.
