Power to residents of property to rent in Camden
People living in property to rent in Camden and other types of residence in the borough have been given the power to help shape the region.
New budgets have been provided by Camden Council to contribute to developments in the area, which is already a popular spot for nightlife and music concerts.
Some £200,000 has been made available - it is a portion of the culture and environment directorate's capital maintenance budget for 2009-10 - and the identified projects will be published on council forums in due course.
Cycle racks, new litter bins, tree planting, benches or signage are some of the examples the local authority has offered regarding where the cash should be spent.
In a statement, the council said that the amount of money allocated to each ward in the borough "will be separated from mainstream funding to provide a flexible resource to address specific local issues and priorities identified by residents".
Keith Moffitt, leader of the Camden Council, said he was "delighted" that residents have been given some of the spending power.
