New star rating system may appeal to those living in flats to rent in Barnet
A new star rating system could encourage people to consider looking at flats to rent in the London borough of Barnet.
The Scores on the Doors iPhone application allows users to view the rating awarded to various restaurants and eateries in the area.
It can be downloaded from the iTune apps store and it is hoped the technology will help to improve levels of food quality and safety in the borough.
Residents can take a look at the results of food hygiene inspections via a five-star rating system.
Councillor Melvin Cohen, cabinet member for governance and local affairs, said the application "supports the valuable work of our environmental health staff in ensuring businesses operate to the highest possible hygiene standards".
It also helps to "empower consumers", he added.
Earlier this month, Barnet Council launched an advertising campaign with NHS Barnet encouraging residents to rate the quality of social care and health services in the area.
