New Redbridge music club proves a success
Youngsters living in flats to rent in the London borough of Redbridge and other types of property in the area have been enjoying a new music club.
The new Rock and Urban Music Club aims to get teenagers off the street and into the recording studio.
Around 50 teenagers are benefiting from weekly music sessions, which are held both at the Downshall Centre in Seven Kings and at an after-school club at Loxford School of Science and Technology in Ilford.
The club is funded by The Jack Petchey Foundation and is run by Redbridge Music Service and Redbridge Youth Service.
Patrick Buckley, one of the young people attending the club, said: "Listening to the progress I've made has been a highlight. And we've started a band with other musicians from the project. I want to be a session musician."
Earlier this month, Redbridge Council asked young people in the area to help improve the bridge which crosses the A406 North Circular Road.
