New property in Lambeth on the horizon
Estate Agents in Lambeth will soon have new property to sell after it was announced that a new regeneration project will start in the borough.
Some £13 million has been allocated by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) London Board to produce affordable housing in the area.
property in Lambeth built as part of the project will provide places to live for locals, as well as jobs for those in the construction sector.
The Lambeth area in question where regeneration will take place is Clapham Park, while there has also been £3 million put to one side for a Hale Village project in Haringey.
Robert Napier, chairman of the HCA and its London Board, said: "Our job is to keep projects like Hale Village and Clapham Park moving during these difficult times."
He added that the funding package will guarantee the next phases of these programmes go ahead, and ensure "well-designed" properties are part of the plans.
Other areas set for property development in the coming years, as the 2012 London Olympic Games draw closer, include parts of East London.
