New primary school for Redbridge
A new primary school is to be built near to property to rent in the London borough of Redbridge.
The school, which will be built on the site of the Ilford Jewish Primary School on Carlton Drive, Barkingside, will provide 840 places to four to 11-year-old children in the area.
It will also provide 52 places for nursery-aged children when it opens in September 2012.
The Office of the Schools Adjudicator selected the I-Foundation to run the school following a bidding process.
Councillor Alan Weinberg, cabinet member for children's services, said: "This is great news for the borough."
He went on to say that the school "will not only provide much-needed school places for the borough but it will also offer high-quality education provision for many local pupils".
Last month, the council announced to those living in flats to rent in the London borough of Redbridge and other property in the area that a campaign had been launched to combat hazardous parking outside schools.
