More flats to rent, says CIH
There could be more flats to rent in the London borough of Hillingdon if the concerns of one organisation are realised.
The Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) urged housing developers, as well as the government, to develop a better range of rented accommodation.
According to chief executive of the organisation Sarah Webb, many people in the UK have been "forgotten" about when it comes to housing.
This is because a great deal of Brits cannot afford to own an abode, so must be encouraged to realise renting is not a bad possibility.
Her comments come after research from the CIH revealed many people are unable to get on to the property ladder, but do not require social housing.
Ms Webb added: "The report shows that home ownership is out of reach for a lot of people and we need to move to a situation where renting is a positive choice."
Earlier this year, the CIH claimed it is committed to ensuring the work of National Tenant Voice continued in the UK.
