Merton residents urged to think of topics for review
Merton Council's Overview and Scrutiny Commission is calling for residents of property in the London borough of Merton to suggest changes for their local area.
The scrutiny panel will listen to issues affecting communities within the borough and will see whether the council and other public services could help or make improvements.
Chair of the Overview and Scrutiny Commission, Peter Southgate, said the cuts in public sector funding that are to be made over the next four years will "inevitably" change the way that local services are delivered to residents.
"So their views on how best to adapt our services to meet their needs on reduced budgets will be vital to us. Scrutiny gives residents a voice to influence these difficult choices," he added.
The council recently informed those thinking of moving to property to rent in the London borough of Merton that Wimbledon Park Primary School is to provide 30 extra reception year places from September of this year.
