London crime figures reach five-year low
Residents of flats to rent in Lambeth and property to rent in other parts of the capital are safer from bus crime than they have been for five years, it would seem.
The capital's Mayor Boris Johnson announced this week that robberies and bus vandalism has been reduced by over a third since he took office on May 2nd 2008, while overall bus crime is down by 18 per cent during that period.
His figures suggest that Londoners are experienced the lowest level of trouble on this form of transport since 2004 - and this is partly to do with new policing teams across the city.
Every single borough has seen bus crime decreased, according to Mr Johnson, which is likely to be welcomed by everyone - including residents of flats to rent in Southwark and tenants of property to rent in Islington.
"When I became mayor, I pledged to make buses, trains and stations safer," explained Mr Johnson. "It is extremely encouraging to see the positive effect these policing teams are having across the capital."
