Islington rental market 'performing well'
Winkworth is reporting high levels of demand for residential properties in the London borough of Islington.
The Estate Agent said that while house prices have dipped slightly in the area over recent months - reflecting a wider downtick in UK property value - the rental market appears to be faring well.
Issuing its latest report as part of a wider study into the capital's housing market, it noted that demand for lettings is soaring across the capital's more fashionable districts, including Islington, Notting Hill and Clerkenwell.
"The lettings market in Islington is extremely strong," asserted Ian Fraser of Winkworth Islington. "There is always a shortage of properties to let and good levels of applicants mean that demand continues to be high."
The past three years have seen annual house price rises of 30 per cent or more in Islington, the study noted.
That comes on the heels of 231 per cent property inflation in the area since 1996, making Islington the borough with the ninth highest level of house price appreciation in the capital.
