Haringey residents to enjoy refurbished tennis courts
People living in flats to rent in the London borough of Haringey can now enjoy the use of newly-refurbished tennis courts in their area.
The Bruce Castle Park tennis courts were officially opened by Roger Draper, the chief executive of the Lawn Tennis Association.
Work to repair and improve the courts cost around £278,000 and was funded by the Lawn Tennis Association's Tennis Foundation and Haringey Council.
Councillor Alan Strickland, cabinet member for economic development and social inclusion at Haringey Council, said: "Tennis is booming in Haringey and these new courts will provide top quality facilities in Tottenham."
The improvements included the rebuilding and resurfacing of five courts and the addition of floodlights on two of the courts.
Haringey Council is currently running a series of half term school holiday sporting activities for young people in the area, some of whom live in property to rent in the London borough of Haringey.
