Haringey residents receive Unsung Women awards
Those living in flats to rent in the London borough of Haringey may be interested to hear that 11 local women have been recognised at the Unsung Women Awards.
A part of International Women's Day, the awards celebrate local women who have made an outstanding contribution in the borough.
The awards were presented to the recipients in a ceremony held at the College of Haringey in Enfield, North-East London.
Councillor Bernice Vanier, cabinet member for community safety and cohesion at Haringey Council, said: "We're delighted to show our appreciation for the contribution that these women have made to life in the borough."
She went on to say that the winners are an "inspiration for hundreds and thousands of local girls and women".
Earlier this week, the council reminded those living in flats to rent in the London borough of Haringey and other property in the area that, if they are planning a street party to celebrate the royal wedding on April 29th, they must submit their applications before April 7th.
