Gym extension opens in Southwark
An extended gym has opened at Dulwich Leisure Centre, providing those living in property to rent in the London borough of Southwark with a more inviting place in which to exercise.
The £6.2 million refurbishment included the addition of new dry changing rooms.
It was formally opened by councillor Veronica Ward, cabinet member for culture, libraries, leisure and the Olympics at Southwark Council, and MP Tessa Jowell on Saturday (June 25th).
The new, larger gym now features 100 workstations and access for people with mobility and visual difficulties has been significantly improved across the site.
Ms Ward said that she thinks the new gym looks "fantastic" and the borough should be proud of it.
"With the London 2012 Olympics round the corner, we're determined to provide as many opportunities as possible for local residents to make use of top class facilities like these," she added.
Earlier this month, people moved into new property to rent in the London borough of Southwark located in the Aylesbury Estate.
