Grant to help promote cycling in Redbridge
People living in property to rent in the London borough of Redbridge are to be encouraged to use their bikes more thanks to a new grant from Transport for London.
A total of £385,500 has been awarded to Redbridge Council to help promote cycling in the borough.
It will also be used to provide people with the skills and facilities required to cycle safely.
Councillor Michelle Dunn, cabinet member for highways at Redbridge Council, said: "The funding will be used to develop cycling projects and initiatives within Snaresbrook and South Woodford cycle hub with a view to rolling out the more successful events across the borough where funding permits."
Some of the money will go towards improving junctions in the area to make them safer for cyclists.
Earlier this month, the council announced to those living in property to rent in the London borough of Redbridge that a brand new primary school providing 840 places is to open in the area.
