Crossrail jobs to be created for residents of flats in Marylebone and across London
A firm has been chosen as project delivery partner for the Crossrail scheme, it has been announced.
US-based company Bechtel will oversee building of the core central tunnelled section, with construction of the rail project remaining on schedule.
Those choosing flats to rent in Marylebone could be set to benefit from the cross-London project, with jobs expected to be created for people living all over the capital.
Crossrail is Europe's largest construction project and Mayor Boris Johnson suggested that 14,000 people could be employed to deliver it.
"We anticipate that the vast majority of the jobs required to fulfil these contracts will be created in London and the UK, which can only be good news for the capital," he said.
This week, Transport for London announced its budget for the coming financial year, with plans to commence work on the Isle of Dogs Crossrail station included in the package.
