Consumers indicate now is good time for house buying
property to rent in London seems to be a more attractive idea to consumers as only 45 per cent of potential house purchasers believe now is a good time to enter the market, according to a survey.
Data from the Building Societies Association's (BSA's) Property Tracker revealed that 55 per cent of would-be buyers consider job security as a barrier to acquiring an abode, while 53 per cent cited the difficulty in saving a deposit as a major obstacle.
Paul Broadhead, head of mortgage policy at the BSA, said that while the government has spoken of its desire to help homeowners, respondents had indicated that there are many avenues for this administration to tackle.
Recently, a poll by NatWest Intermediary Solutions found that 88 per cent of househunters think saving for a sufficient deposit is the biggest issue in trying to get on to the housing ladder.
Figures showing that less than half of potential buyers believe now is a good time to purchase a home, might encourage more people to consider looking for property to rent in the London borough of Hillingdon or elsewhere in the country.
