Bromley residents comment on improvements plans
Those living in property to rent in the London borough of Bromley have attended an exhibition to view and have their say on improvements that have so far been suggested for Bromley North Village.
Some £300,000 is to be used to fund the design and consultation phase for the scheme.
Councillor Stephen Carr, leader of Bromley Council, said that, if the new proposals go ahead, the town will become "cleaner, brighter and safer".
"The initiative will encourage inward investment into the High Street with the potential for smaller independent traders to do business," he added.
Under the current plans, Market Square, High Street North and the East Street areas of Bromley town centre would be revamped.
They would be made increasingly pedestrian-friendly, featuring clean and safe open spaces.
Earlier this month, Bromley Council revealed that its £1.5 million improvements scheme at Orpington library was almost complete.
The new library is set to open to the public on May 16th.
