Brent homework clubs to help with school work
A new scheme in Brent will help children to complete their homework, it has been announced, which may benefit families in flats to rent in the London borough of Brent.
The new homework club project will be launched in five of Brent's libraries from February 28th and will see children being led by a qualified teacher.
Brent Council explained in a statement: "The free clubs, which will mostly take place immediately after school, are intended to offer additional home learning support to children aged eight to 11 years old who are studying the Key Stage 2 school curriculum."
Middlesex Town Hall Library, Kilburn Library, Kingsbury Library Plus, Willesden Green Library and Ealing Road Library are the institutions that will be participating in the scheme.
The initiative is being funded by Kilburn, Willesden and Kingsbury's local partnership boards and a Quality Study Support Grant from the Quality in Study Support and Extended Services group.
Last month, Brent-based journalist Monica Porter attended Willesden Green Library to speak about her new book Long Lost.
