This represents a two per cent increase on last year.
Meanwhile, the number of students who gained five or more A* - C grades overall also increased to 85 per cent, another two per cent rise compared with 2010. is this different from the previous stat?
Commenting on the figures, Barnet Council cabinet member for education, children and families Andrew Harper said: "I know first hand the hard work both pupils, teachers and parents put in throughout the year and these marks are testament to the first class education system we have here in Barnet.
"I pass on my congratulations to all those students who have achieved their desired grades and wish them the best, whether entering the world of work or choosing to continue with their studies," he added.
A-level results at Barnet's schools outperformed the national average, with 17 per cent of students achieving an A* grade, 31 per cent getting a grade A and 24 per cent a grade B.
