Award-winning bar may be visited by people in flats in flats to rent in Bromley
Individuals occupying flats to rent in the London borough of Bromley may decide to spend time in The Ivory Lounge bar after it won an award.
The establishment was named as the winner of the area's Best Bar None scheme, which is run by Bromley Council and Bromley Police to encourage higher standards of management from licensed premises.
Speaking at the prizegiving ceremony, mayor of Bromley George Taylor said: "Sometimes licensed premises take all the blame for the bad behaviour of the few that over indulge in our high streets and spoil an enjoyable evening out for others."
He added individuals do not appreciate the good work carried out by many approved establishments to manage and avoid such situations.
Runner-up in the competition was The Slug and Lettuce in High Street, Beckenham, while there were nine accreditation certificates were handed out to other premises by the mayor.
Earlier this month, Bromley Council revealed the town centre is to be decorated with over 2,000 poppies in support of this year's Poppy Appeal.
