Asbos to be publicised in Tower Hamlets
Tower Hamlets Council is taking steps to improve the quality of live for residents of the London borough.
It has announced that it will "proactively publicise" anti-social behaviour orders (Asbos) that have been imposed on those over the age of 16.
The move is designed to reduce offences, while the council hopes that having the information will reassure people that when a breach of an order is reported it will be dealt with.
"It's important we send out a clear message that in this borough we will not put up with behaviour that makes other peoples' live a misery," councillor Abdal Ullah remarked.
The measure has already proved to be successful in a number of other boroughs including Southwark, Hackney and Islington, where anti-social behaviour and the breaching of Asbos has been reduced.
Last month a quality of life study by Halifax revealed that Tower Hamlets has the lowest carbon dioxide emissions per person of any area in the UK.
