Another property to rent created in Haringey?
Council officials have sold a property in Tottenham that was vacant for a long period, which could mean another flat to rent in the London borough of Haringey is created.
The large flat, which is located in Talbot Road, had not housed tenants for some 17 years.
It was sold at auction for £217,000, of which nearly £13,000 will be retained by authorities as this is the amount owed in council tax.
Councillor John Bevan, cabinet member for housing, said: "This sale will give the new owners the opportunity to return the empty property to a habitable state and make sure it is occupied."
The council has recovered some £242,000 through the use of this enforced sale process so far.
Last month, the council set its budget, which involved a number of major cuts to services but still tackled some of the main issues facing those living in properties to rent in the London borough of Haringey.
